Norcross Ga. is named after former Atlanta Mayor Jonathan Norcross. Norcross was chartered as a town on October 26, 1870 and selected by National Registry as a Historic places in early 1980s, although its history began much earlier. Gwinnett County’s second oldest city, Norcross has new roads and highways which were later built to by-pass the city, preserving its historic look of the 19th-century railroad town.
